Our story

SHE COULDN'T
FIND IT,
SO SHE MADE IT.

Three clean ingredients. Nothing hidden.

Véya started the way a lot of good food does, because the thing our founder wanted did not exist yet.

After years of migraines, our founder, Aneesha, gave up processed food entirely. That meant reading every label, and finding out how few snacks could survive the reading. Seed oils in almost everything. Ingredient lists that ran a paragraph long. So she went back to something her family had always eaten and started making it herself, in her own kitchen in New York: water lily seeds, popped in a pan, roasted in ghee, finished with pink salt.

The response from everyone she shared them with made it clear this needed to exist in the world.

Véya is what she wished had been on the shelf. Not a health-food product with a wellness badge stapled on, and not a nostalgia product either. Just a very good snack, made the right way, from three things you can picture.

What the name means

Véya comes from the Sanskrit root of Veda, meaning knowledge and wisdom. It is a deliberate choice. The ingredients in this bag are not new discoveries. They have been understood for a very long time. What is different is the way they are made, packaged, and put in front of you.

Rooted in Ayurveda. Made for now.

Water lily seeds, also called makhana or fox nuts, come from Euryale ferox, an aquatic plant that has held a place in Ayurvedic tradition for millennia. Ghee is the cornerstone fat of that same tradition, and it is the reason our pops taste the way they do. We could use a cheaper oil. We don't, and we won't.
